1982 Henri Royer-Lebon Santenay

Santenay (AOC) is a village at the very southern tip of the Côte de Beaune, one of the Burgundy’s five major sub-regions. Santenay produces mainly red wine from the Pinot Noir grape. The fruit comes from soils that are a mix of clay and limestone. Thus, the wines from this region tend to be more elegant and lighter-bodied.

This older bottle have been stored well, with a good fill. Pale garnet red color. Light bodied, with a complex perfume of earth, mushrooms, dried leaves, and even flowers and spice that you can often see in old Burgundy tasting notes.
