94 points James Suckling

A gorgeous red with dark-berry, blueberry and violet character. Full body, fine, integrated tannins with dark chocolate, and a delicious finish. Lots of everything here. Very balanced. Formally La Poderina.

94 points Vinous
La Poderina's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is a classic wine from this southern edge of Montalcino. Dark red cherry, plum, smoke, spice and leather notes open up in a rich, resonant wine bursting at the seams with personality. The 2010 needs a few years to soften, but it is already striking and absolutely delicious.
93 points Wine Spectator
Packed with ripe cherry, plum and blackberry flavors, this red is rich and harmonious, its structure embedded in the texture, with spice and tobacco notes adding depth. Dense and long, with a lingering mineral element.
90 points Decanter
Notes of woodsmoke and licorice over ripe and concentrated black fruit aromas. Mid weight texture and precise flavours of red cherry, underbrush, tobacco and peppery spices. Very elegant finish and well balanced.

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Boasting a much thicker and masculine persona, the 2010 Brunello di Montalcino opens to a black-garnet color and immediate aromatic intensity. The bouquet peels back with thick layers of dried blackberry, smoke, leather, spice, tobacco and Spanish cedar. On the Brunello aromatic scale, this wine veers closer to oak spice instead of balsam herb or licorice. Crushed stone and pencil shavings make for elegant contours. In the mouth, this Brunello is very soft and malleable. This wine is suitable for medium and long-term drinking.
